Rupper's theoretical study confirmed by new evidence
As a doctoral student, Summer Rupper, now associate professor of geography, and University of Washington faculty member Gerard Roe conducted a theoretical study. In
very cold and dry environments, where rain and snow are scarce, it predicted that
temperature would not always be the main factor driving a glacier’s growth. Data collected
in 2007 and 2010 as part of a new study from UW, confirmed their predictions. Read more.
